Conceived and presented by award-winning playwright, Willard Simms, and co-producer Rania Pallad, Theatre of Will brings to life stories of troubled youths from different historical eras who eventually became inspiring figures who helped shape history.
OUR SCHOOL PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY
We want to help school age children learn to respect and value themselves and their own unique cultures while showing them that they can also respect and value the cultures of others. Peer pressure is, in these troubled times, one of the thorniest problems to face students in their daily lives. Denial of the rights of anyone who looks or acts different is a fact of life at many public schools. Yet, the Los Angeles Times, in its article A RENAISSANCE IN THE CLASSROOM (March 5, 1999) stated that the arts have a special ability to bring children together. "Students who once segregated themselves into racial cliques became friends because they were all pirates in PETER PAN, or ballerinas in PINOCCHIO."
At the same time, we believe that developing the fully rounded human being, capable of uniting thinking, feeling and action is paramount to the success of future generations. One of the best ways to achieve that goal is to bring alive some of the great figures from our past, and dramatically recreate how that spark of greatness was ignited in them.
Theatre of Will's productions are dedicated to igniting the light of promise and the full achievement of human potential through the creative utilization of drama, music and dance.
